Week 13: “the first great commandment of all eternity is….”

“…to love God with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength—that’s the first great commandment. But the first great truth of all eternity is that God loves us with all of His heart, might, mind, and strength” (Elder Holland, April 2016).

This week I had a lot of time to read basically every talk from April 2016 General Conference, because my companion had her ingrown toenail removed, and the painkillers really messed with her head. We were in the apartment all of Friday and almost all of Saturday. Woot woot. Basically I was bored a lot so I baked a lot of unhealthy things, and we watched almost all of the seminary videos from the eighties for Doctrine and Covenants.

Even though we had a boring end of the week, we actually worked really hard and had some success! We started out the week with no one committed to baptism, and now we have two people progressing towards baptism in December, Lidia and Luis. Lidia has been an investigator for a few weeks, but it takes a little bit longer for her to understand things, so we had to go pretty slow with her. We went to her house like three times this week. One of those times we even made lunch for her and her family. That was fun. It was nice to eat with someone other than just my companion lol. Lidia and her two sons also came to church yesterday! IT WAS AWESOME. Luis….. oh Luis. So the other missionaries contacted him back in like June and taught him like half a lesson, and then he disappeared but not really disappeared, he just lives half of the time in the fields and half the time here in Federal. But we found him again this week and taught him lesson one. He was so excited to learn we have a living prophet that he committed to be baptized WOOOHOOOO GO FEDERAL.

Our cute little Branch traveled to the temple this week, and I was so jealous. I miss the temple more than I thought I would. Ahhhhhh the temple. One of my favorite people in Argentina, Hermana Vero, got endowed on Saturday, and when we saw her at church the next day, she was glowing. She was so happy. The temple truly is the House of the Lord.

I miss you all! I love youuuuuuuu.

  1. You are doing very well, it appears. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the true source of joy and happiness in this life. You are reflecting that in your emails:) Glad for your successes! Timp temple has a redone celestial room…..it is beautiful! All new furnishings. We still miss you at the temple and hope you might come back and serve after your mission.
    Love you, Sis Wadley
