“know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” (3 Nephi 14:11). Heavenly Father is so good to us. He is the best.
Freaking heck. There are so many hills here in Victoria. My legs feel like noodles. Hahaha jk it is just a nice reminder that I used to go walk around in the mountains or on campus a lot. In Federal it was completely flat. But I love Victoria. It is a lot bigger than Federal, but it apparently is still small, so that is chill. We have a cute little branch out here. It is bigger than the branch in Federal.
But this week was nuts. Literally so crazy. It started on Thursday when my cute companion programmed someone to get baptized for the first time in her mission! His name is Jose Maria. He has tons of potential and loves to learn about the gospel…. The only problem is that he didn’t go to church yesterday. Ugh that is the worst. Then that night we went to bed like normal only to get a call at midnight (!?!?!) from our district leader. And I answered like half asleep and tried to understand what was going on with all the Spanish after I had been dead asleep for an hour, and from what I understood (and what my companion understood) they were walking to our apartment to give us their keys and we needed to meet them outside!?!?!?! So we walked outside our apartment in our pajamas without our nametags and waited for them. Then all of the sudden one of the mission cars pulled up with our district leader, his companion, and two of the office elders…. They gave us their keys to their apartment and said something about an air conditioner and that they were headed to Santa Fe in that very moment. And then they left. And we were both very very confused. Then the next morning we went to work like normal, feeling very sleepy. We had a lunch appoinment with our Branch President, so we went, and his wife told us that our District Leader might be heading home (?!?!?!) because of health problems, which would explain why the office elders were there and why we needed their keys, but not why they were talking about AC. BUT THEN we got a call from the mission office saying that the people were in front of our apartment waiting for us to receive our new AC and the elders’ AC, and that they weren’t going to wait for very long….. And we were like CRAP, because we were not very close to our apartment, so we called a taxi, only to have them call like ten minutes later to say that they actually weren’t going to come, and then the delivery guys called telling us we needed to hurry, and we were like UGHHHHHHHH so we basically ran to our apartment right before lunch was going to start, got the ACs, and then ran back and ate. Then when we got back home, we called the member who was going to install our AC to tell him they had arrived, and turns out he will be on vacation for two weeks…. So now we just have all these ACs in our apartment. THEN the next day I was washing my clothes like normal, and the sink fell off the wall…. So that was a big confidence booster lol. But on the brightside our District Leader didn’t end up going home!
But yup that was my week. Nothing really exciting happened. We don’t have many investigators or anything here so we are basically starting from scratch lol.
Also pray for me and my Spanish speaking abilities lol.
Also our oven doesn’t work, and I really want to make cookies.
Love you all.
